Emily’s Wish

I wish to . . . Go to Walt Disney World!

How do we even begin to thank the Make-A-Wish organization? Thank you doesn’t even begin to express our gratitude and appreciation. This was my daughter Emily’s wish to go to Disney World and meet Princesses. Wow,

we met the Princesses along with Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Pluto and the rest of the gang. Meeting the Princesses, Mickey and friends just put Emily in a magical time and moment.

She was in her element on this trip, you brought my Emily back. She has been so scared of meeting people this past year as doctors always poke, pull and prod at her, and nurses as great as the oncology nurses, unfortunately by default they were the people who actually gave her the chemo that made her feel sick.

For a parent to just sit back and watch her from the moment she arrives at Give Kids the World, she was roaring to go. We started from Vancouver at 6:00am and here it is 8:00pm, we have traveled all day, and there was no time to waste, as mom was going through orientation, Dad had to dig through unpacked suitcases to find her bathing suit and aqua shoes so she could go play in the water park.

And from there we just had to pick up the pace. The magical part was the amount of fun she was having, and to see her bond and play with her brother like they used to. She was so excited and still is and often talks about her trip.

The trip was flawless, wow, what an unbelievably well organized trip. Everything was thought of and arranged to perfection. I know in order to have something go so well there are lots of people that are involved to make this happen. If you have the opportunity please share and express to all your staff and volunteers how thankful and grateful we are for all their hard work and dedication.

This trip was not just a Make-A-Wish for Emily, it was for Emily, it was for Bradley, Natalie and Colin as well.”
